ゲイリーはミズーリ大学で学士号を取得し、UCLAとアメリカン・フィルム・インスティテュートで修士課程を修めた演劇訓練を受けたアメリカ人俳優です。1978年より全米映画俳優組合の会員として、ロサンゼルスとニューヨークで50年にわたり活動してきました。
現在は台北在住。アジアの数々のテレビ作品に主要キャストとして出演しており、「斯卡羅（セカロ）」「台湾エクスプレス」「ドリームレイダー」「アイランドネーション」1&2、「ワンダーウーマン」「ボルネオの三つの涙」などがあります。台湾映画「スキャムズギビング」「妻と旅行」「ダブルハピネス」、そして公開予定の「ゴーストズベイン」にも出演しています。
